What a show last night! All the bands blew us away - please check them out, especially Library Voices all the way from Canada who had everybody transfixed on their energetic live show! Absolutely loved Queen Jane too - hopefully some of you snapped up a copy of their free EP - and Vigo Thieves were tighter than a… anyway.
The Xcerts finished things off beautifully with a belter of a DJ set for their aftershow party. As usual, we were not happy when lights went up. More photos here.
LAID: a brand new live music and club night at Bloc with sexy line-ups, pumped-up beats and delicious treats. It’s from the folks what brought you MILK and it’s all for free. We are having a party to celebrate being born, with these very special guests:
MEURSAULT - Their name is hard to spell but their music is quite simply the most beautiful thing we have ever heard. We first caught onto them when Frightened Rabbit told us they were their favourite band. Then we began an intimate relationship with their music, and now you should too too.

CRAYONS - These sprightly young things have produced some of the catchiest indie pop tunes about and they are going to be huge, mark our words. Crayons played MILK a few weeks back and since then mullions of folk have approached us and asked who they were, and where and when they could see them again. The answer is Crayons, at LAID, very soon.

SEBASTIAN DANGERFIELD - Native to Edinburgh but making things exciting with an alternative, Americana rock sound inspired by Old Crow Medicine show. They have real family relations with We Were Promised Jetpacks - not that it matters but, y’know, can’t be a bad thing.

MILK and Flat 0/1 are very excited to announce the line-up for our launch night on Wednesday 25th May. Helping us celebrate are the incredibly talented Open Swimmer, who’ll make your glass half full with their stunning harmony-driven symphonies, and Every Genius Delivers to keep your ears enriched. And finally, to bring things to boiling point before we spill over onto the dance floor, a true treat in the form of The Dirty Beggars. If you haven’t seen these guys play live, get ready to be shaken up by some down and dirty country with yelling, hooting, hollering and stomping. Yee ha! They’re taking their Americana vibe stateside soon so catch em while you can.
The good stuff doesn’t stop there: there’ll be visuals and DJs till 3am, a photographer capturing all the action, a double bed and sofas to rest up those dancing bones, and plenty more fun and games, best enjoyed with a selection of calcium-enriched beverages from the booze cupboard. We’ve got white russians, pink russians, mint russians… not to mention all the usual Flat 0/1 delights including Mad Dog and 75p Frosty Jack’s - stay classy Glasgow.
Come and join the flat party of the year. Click here to access the Facebook event page.
Tristan models his MILK moustache. Get your milky mugs on our polaroid wall and see all the photographic evidence from the night HERE the following day, plus exclusive videos and interviews with the bands. The perfect cure for russian-induced hangovers.
